“What I Have Written I Have Written”
Blessings folk!
John 19:18-22
There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.
Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross.
It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”
Many of the Jews read this inscription,
for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city,
and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek.
So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate,
“Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’”
Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”

Pilate continued to drive home his point - Jesus was not guilty.
This sign is really interesting.
Pilate was speaking forth truth even as he believed he was trolling the religious leadership.
Jesus was of Nazareth.
Jesus was the King of the Jews.
This was the official determination of Pilate.
Pilate wanted the truth propagated.
The cross was near the city.
Many saw.
Pilate wrote the inscription in three languages.
All would read.
All would hear.
All would know.
The chief priests were furious.
They demanded that Pilate reword the inscription.
He refused.
He was making a strong point.
He was communicating much.
“What I have written I have written”.
