Two Things

“Two Things…”
Blessings folk!
Here is an interesting proverbial thought.
Read carefully.
Pro 30:7-9
Two things I ask of you;
deny them not to me before I die:
Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that is needful for me,
lest I be full and deny you
and say, “Who is the LORD?”
or lest I be poor and steal
and profane the name of my God.
ESV
The Proverbist asked for two things.
He desired them both before he died.
For falsehood and lying to be removed from him
To have neither poverty nor riches, to have basic needs met
Why?
He knew that if he were full of falsehood and lie that he would likely deny the Lord.
He knew that if he were lacking food and resources that he would steal and thereby profane the name of the Lord.
May it be so for us.
No falsehood.
No lying.
Resting in the perfect provision of the Lord.
