“Righteous”
Blessings folk!
There is advantage to the Jew.
There is value in the sign of the covenant, circumcision.
Much!
They were entrusted with the oracles/Word of God
So?
Rom 3:3-6
What then?
If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?
May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written,
“THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS,
AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED.”
But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say?
The God who inflicts wrath is not unrighteous, is He? (I am speaking in human terms.)
May it never be!
For otherwise, how will God judge the world?
NASB95
Will the fact that some do not believe negate the faithfulness of God?
May it never be!
God is found true.
Always.
Even if every man is a liar.
Paul quotes from David’s penitent Psalm 51…his confession before the Lord related to the Bathsheba sin.
God is justified in His words.
God prevails/overcomes when He judges.
Our unrighteousness…our sin…gives opportunity for the righteousness of God to manifest.
Paul asked if the God who inflicts wrath is unrighteous.
He quickly gives a parenthetical clarification that he is speaking hypothetically.
May it never be!
God is not unrighteous.
He is Righteousness.
Righteous in all ways, in all things, at all times.
Otherwise?
If God is not Righteousness, how will he judge the world?
He is Righteousness.
He will judge.
Are you ready?
