“Quarrelsome”
Blessings folk!
Here we go.
Some of the Proverbs invoke intense emotional reaction in people.
This is an example.
Sometimes folk take offense.
Sometimes folk get defensive.
Both are wrong.
Simply receive the truth of the Word.
Pro 27:15-16
A continual dripping on a rainy day
and a quarrelsome wife are alike;
to restrain her is to restrain the wind
or to grasp oil in one’s right hand.
ESV
Pro 27:15-16
A quarrelsome wife is as annoying
as constant dripping on a rainy day.
Stopping her complaints is like trying to stop the wind
or trying to hold something with greased hands.
NLT
“Quarrelsome” means “strife, contention, brawling”.
A wife who is quarrelsome is like continual drip.
Persistent.
Irritating.
Annoying.
A quarrelsome wife can not be restrained - like the wind, like trying to grasp oil.
This is the fifth(?) time the Proverbist has commented on a quarrelsome wife.
Beware.
Be forewarned.
