Prudent

“Prudent”
Blessings folk!
“That wouldn’t be prudent.”
Many of us will remember this oft spoken response, spoken in a nasal, prudish way, by a top political leader of our lives.
I once thought he was honorable.
I have learned otherwise.
The Word speaks of the “prudent”…
Pro 22:3
The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.
ESV
Pro 22:3
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
NLT
The word translated “prudent” means “crafty”, “shrewd”, “sensible”, “sly”.
So, the Word tells us that a sensible, shrewd, crafty person will hide himself when he sees danger.
Nothing wrong with that.
The “simple”?
That word speaks of “simple-minded”, “naive”, “foolish”.
They see danger and just keep plowing on.
They give no thought to the situation.
They heed not the danger they see.
The outcome?
They suffer for it.
May we, as true believer, walk prudently in the power of the Most High God!
Be not a simpleton.
