Multiplied

“Multiplied”
Blessings folk!
As mentioned many times in the past, we too often “scan through, blow through” the intro/outros of books in the Bible.
We just think “oh, he is saying howdy”, and pay little attention to the truths presented in the conversation.
The beginning of 1 Peter is a case in point.
We have seen some about the foreknowledge of God.
Read again.
What do you see?
What is the Lord revealing to you today?
1 Peter 1:1-2
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion
in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,
in the sanctification of the Spirit,
for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:
May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
ESV
We see that Peter is an apostle - a messenger.
We see that the recipients are:
- elect
- exiles
- dispersed from their homeland
We see insight into the nature of God.
The foreknowledge of God the Father.
The fact that believers are sanctified by the Spirit.
The fact that believers are to live for obedience to Jesus Christ.
The fact that believers are for sprinkling with His blood.
We see the triune nature of God.
We see some of the Power of God.
We see some of the Purpose of God.
We see who we are in God.
Then, Peter speaks grace and peace upon them.
Multiplied grace.
Multiplied peace.
May we do likewise.
May we rejoice.
