“Gave Them Over”
Blessings folk!
The ungodly and unrighteous know.
They know God is.
He has made Himself evident within them.
He has revealed Himself in creation.
Still, they deny this revealed truth.
They thereby become this…
Romans 1:22-23
Professing to be wise, they became fools,
and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Professing to be wise…they think.
Fools…in reality.
They dive deeper into “wise” foolishness by exchanging who they are…the glory of God and image of God…for idols.
Images.
Images of corruptible man and animals.
Now, watch the next word…
Rom 1:24-25
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity,
so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie,
and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

“Therefore…”
In light of what has been said.
“God gave them over”.
We see this phrase three times in Romans 1.
God gives them to what they desire.
Note their desire - lusts of hearts.
Note the outcome - impurity, bodies dishonored among them.
Note what/how - exchanged. Ah…again!
They had exchanged glory.
Now they exchange truth.
The truth of God for a lie.
Outcome?
They worship the creature…man…creation…rather than the Creator.
They serve the creature…man…creation…rather than the Creator.
Well that explains much!
Do we not see this today?
