Fear. Trust.

“Fear. Trust.”
Blessings folk!
The next Proverb addresses a major issue with modern believers.
Who do you fear?
Who do you trust?
Most people…believer and unbeliever alike…fear man.
They fear what man might do.
They fear what man might think.
Most people…believer and unbeliever alike…do not fear God as they should.
Unbelievers have no fear of God.
Believers do not have the correct understanding of the fear of God.
Pro 29:25
The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.
ESV
Most people…believer and unbeliever alike…trust themselves, situation and circumstance.
Most do not trust the Lord.
The Word is clear.
The “fear of man” is a snare…a trap…a pit.
The antidote/antithesis to the fear of man?
Trust in the Lord.
Only in trusting in the Lord are we safe.
Many are the portions of the Word that tell us this.
Remember…
Psa 37:3
Trust in the LORD, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
ESV
Psa 115:11
You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD!
He is their help and their shield.
ESV
Pro 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
ESV
Isa 26:4
Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
ESV
Act 9:31
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
ESV
Heb 13:6
So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
ESV
Fear not man.
Fear the Lord.
Trust not man.
Trust the Lord.
Psa 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
ESV
