“Adam”
Blessings folk!
Rom 5:12-14
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man,
and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—
for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given,
but sin is not counted where there is no law.
Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses,
even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam,
who was a type of the one who was to come.

Sin came into the world through one man…Adam.
There is great debate over this.
For our purpose, give close heed to just the facts.
Sin came.
Death came through sin.
Death spread to all men because all men have sinned.
Sin was in the world before the Law.
Even before the Law “defined” sin, people sinned.
People died.
Death reigned.
From the time of Adam…the initial rebellion/rebel…
To the time of Moses…through whom the Law was given.
Death reigned even over those who did not transgress like Adam…?
Adam’s transgression impacted the entirety of creation.
Not just man.
All creation.
Death.
Adam was a type of the one who was to come.
Huh?
Adam was “a type”, a picture, of the One promised in Gen 3…redeemer, restorer, victor.
Through Adam, the one man, came sin and death.
Through Jesus, the one man, came forgiveness and life.
One last thought of mine…so take it for whatever…
Adam is also a type of the one to come…the “man of lawlessness”, “the antichrist”.
Adam rebelled.
So did/does/will the man of lawlessness.
